Morning! Yesterday we celebrated the Thai New Year with the locals. We made sure our water was freezing cold and made lots of water balloons to throw at the children. They loved it! The sunshine managed to get out and it was hot but not too hot! We even went on a little stroll around the village and saw a few snakes and lizards in the grass! I’m ready to tan myself now so I’m excited to get to the beach tomorrow but today we’re visiting more family in Sawang Daen Din. We were going to drive to Nong Kai, a town by the Mekong river but it’s a 6 hour round trip and we’re a little sick of travelling now. Can’t wait for tomorrow now, sun, sea and sand! Speak again soon, L.
Hey guys! I found a few more pictures from my camera of our night in Bangkok so I thought I’d share them with you. Loved my outfit that night, wish I got a better picture! I wore my striped wide leg trousers and leather cross slides from Zara with a plain white crop from Missguided. I bought the trousers because the stripe is similar to the Thai flag, perfect for a Thai holiday, haha! It was so chilled up there, you wouldn’t expect to be in the middle of busy Bangkok. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a few nights if you visit the capital! Speak again tomorrow, L.
Hey loves! Today is Songkran – Thai New Year! We arrived to my grans house late afternoon yesterday and picked a load of food up from Tesco Lotus ready for a BBQ. My mum and nephew, Ja made a delicious spread of spare ribs, fried chicken, papaya salad and sticky rice. We had a really bad thunder storm and had to cut our BBQ short and head in doors! Josh noticed that the Tookay lizard had taken up residence in my grans bathroom. It hasn’t been around for months and as the Thai’s consider them good luck, we thought it was a real blessing. I even had a shower with him peering over the walls at me, haha! Today is bad rain but hopefully it will stop soon. My sister, uncle, auntie and cousins arrived late last night too so I can’t wait to see them all. Oh and my vlogging hasn’t gone great! So, my first vlog will only be a short one! Speak again soon, L.
Here’s a map so you have some idea of where I am!
Good morning from Bangkok! I’m so delighted to be waking up here, that’s why I’m awake so early! (It’s 7 am here!). The view from our hotel room is beautiful isn’t it? Last night we enjoyed a few g&t’s on the rooftop bar. It was so chilled and it was nice to watch the sun disappear behind the sky scrapers. We then headed up to Nana on the sky train, just one stop away from us for some food. It was delicious but I had a banging head ache so we went to bed fairly early. Today we are flying up to my gran’s house in the North East of Thailand, a short drive away from the Laos border. A lot of my family are returning to my gran’s to celebrate the Thai new year and I’m so excited to see them! I wanted a morning swim but I have my bags to repack so I best get going! Have a lovely day, speak again soon, L.
Good morning loves! How are you?Can you guess where Josh and I have just landed? We left home about 24 hours ago and we have finally arrived in… Bangkok! I’m so happy to be back! It’s been way to long and I’ve realised how much I love this city! I have been so giddy for a good few days now but I have one last thing to do before I can totally relax for 3 weeks and that’s surprise my little brother Alex! I kept our trip a secret from him and told him that Josh and I couldn’t afford the holiday so he won’t be expecting to see us! It’s been a hard 7 months keeping it quiet but I’m so excited to see the look on his face when he sees us stood at his hotel room door, haha! We’ve just arrived at our hotel so we’re going to chill, freshen up and enjoy the luxury of our suite for a while (I’ve done a little room tour for my first vlog coming to my YouTube channel in a few days time so click here to subscribe!). Wish me luck for the surprise and I will let you know how it goes! Speak soon, L.
